Delphian School Students Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day

On Tuesday, May 4th, Delphian School celebrated Teacher Appreciation Day with student-organized presentations to each Upper School teacher.

Form 6* Head Trevor Ott gave a presentation to all Upper School students about the specific goals of the nationally recognized event.  Mr. Ott read a number of well-known quotes from historical figures to orient students to the goals of Teacher Appreciation Day and highlight the role teachers have played in the creation of our culture’s past leaders.

He then left it up to the students in each class to determine the best way to acknowledge their own teachers.  The students had a great time creating banners, posters, cards and collages with messages of thanks and gratitute.  One class took up a collection for an i-pod nano for their instructor.  The teachers were happily surprised when they arrived in their classrooms to find these messages of thanks.

*Form 6 is the equivalent of all of 9th and half of 10th grade
