The Delphian School Alumni Gather for a Fun Weekend

Every year Delphian School Alumni gather on campus and chat, give seminars, share ideas, and get “roasted.”  This year, the 2013AlumniWeekendevent happened on Friday, October 18th, beginning with seminars hosted by Delphian alumni.  These seminars allowed current students to ask questions, hear about life experiences, and discuss what was successful for the alumni.  The seminars covered a variety of careers including education, business, law, technology, media, sports, health, and more.

The alumni were then treated to a fantastic choir performance and a dinner which specifically honored the Class of 2003.  The tradition for the alumni weekend dinner is to “roast” those returning graduates who are visiting for their 10 year reunion.  This meant members of the graduating Class of 2003 got to hear their exploits from the point of view of others.  The roast is always filled with good-natured laughter and this roast was no exception.  A fun game of alumni volleyball rounded out the evening.

2013AlumniWeekend-1On Saturday, the alumni were treated to brunch and met in their 31st annual meeting of the Delphian School Alumni Association.  This meeting gives Delphian School staff a chance to update alumni on the school and gives them a peak into Delphian’s future.

Saturday wasn’t all great food and excellent conversation, though.  In true Delphian style, alumni participated in a high speed photo scavenger hunt, students vs. alumni basketball and soccer games, and a Saturday Night Performance.  After all of this, the alumni participated in Fiesta Night and headed over to the Headmistress’s home for additional socializing and games.

Each year, Delphian Alumni are invited back to the school to participate in a fun weekend, filled with socializing, sports, games, great food, and fun.  To learn more about the Delphian School and our programs, visit www.Delphian.org.
